Time Table and Subjects

Postby Ali » 12. Jun 2014 14:38

Hey I am going to be doing the timetables as soon as I know what topics your students are planning on doing. So I have created this topic here for everyone to tell me the subjects that their characters will be doing. I have a list of the most common subjects and if you have a subject your student would like to do then we can add it in.

I want the main 3 classes Potion, Magic and Health to be done by everyone so that we can mix the characters all in one class as well as them doing their own thing. I was thinking of everyone choosing 4 subjects each or even 3 if you don't want a 4 lesson and we can place a free period.

Here are the subjects:

Magic Class: this class you will be learning of all different types of magic such as spells, black and white magic, summing basically all types of magic. Rather than have them all separate it can be done in one class and then choose a main focus.

Health Class: is all about health and safety, importance of your health and everything involved with your health.

Potion Class: is basically like science but more magical and potion making etc. it will be involved in the lab and also you will be learning about plants, animals and etc that will help your powers and control powers.

Art: basically has all the different arts such as Fashion, Fine art, photography, digital art etc so everything involved with art will be expressed in this class.

Music

Geography

History

Sports: this will be optional in what sport you are interested in either being soccer or track sports. Cheerleading to rugby. It is all taught in this lesson.

I.T

Literature

Mathematics

Language Studies

- I had to add an extra Free period for Andy due to not being able to place a subject there, :( also there is only one magic class where everyone is in. Potion class, Health class and the rest of the magic classes I have scattered and mixed everyone about :)

Okay, if I'm getting this right they'll get four classes in addition to the three mandatory ones? It's cool that you're volunteering to do this btw. :)

I personally think there's something missing language wise, foreign languages I mean. I suppose it would be difficult to roleplay since I'm pretty sure English is the only language we all have in common but maybe they could learn Latin or some other archaic languages that help reading really old spell tomes or something. ;) It's really just an idea though, I don't know how well it would translate.

Gonna add Max' and Andy's lists later. :)

That's not a bad idea actually I think that would be perfect. I will put that in the list as well. Also you understood correctly all you need to chose is four subjects and I will be adding the 3 main lessons so that in total it's 7 subjects :)

Also welcome back hope you had a wonderful time and I am more than happy to do it :)

Okay, I figure I might as well start on the subject list:

Andy: Literature, Mathematics, IT, and Language Studies

Max: Art, History, Geography, Literature

Noir: Geography, History, Math, Language studies

Elyssa: Sports, Literature, IT, Art

Asha: Music, sports, Language studies, Literature

How about something like domestic science* as one topic? (*I'm not sure if that is the correct word for it, what I mean basically is cooking & household lessons) And chemistry or... maybe rather just sum it up as "Science" lesson and they can do anything science related there, not like the lessons are set in stone after all since it's a magic school XD

I'm bit unsure though, the whole set schedules feels bit too much micromanaging to me, not like we wrote that many lessons during the first game either and I don't think at least I'll be writing too much lessons now either. :/

Nathan: Art, Music, Sports, IT
Jörg: Music, Sports, Language Studies, Math
Mallory: Art, IT, Sports, Language Studies

I'll probably add another teacher ... at least I'm thinking about that right now ... for languages, maybe.

@foxy I am only making schedules so that the characters can mix more and we can have more to play with. Also for Elyssa if you can't find a suitable subject then I will give her a free period so she can do what ever she pleases.

I think it would make sense if students were obligated to take additional magic lessons in such cases - just my two cents though.

Also: Can we pick additional topics? I kinda feel like one of my characters would do that and there's one more that would match ...

I added art for her. It's just that she's really lazy what comes to studying so anything that would require lots of reading is pretty much immediately "lol noep" for her but she's not musical or artistic either. :/ I picked art because I felt sorry for anyone who'd have to hear her sing, at least they can just choose to not take a look at any "art" she produces XD

Tell one about picking topics for lazy characters - I stared at Nathan completely lost for a few minutes :D

I personally think it's a good idea backdrop wise. If we want our characters to meet new people or something, so that we can keep in mind not to always put the same three people together. ;) We don't necessarily have to write any more lessons unless we want to. :)

I had a bit of a problem picking things for Andy, too. Cause on one hand he'd totally want to do everything because new things! But he'd also get distracted about two minutes in from most things. ;)

@royalblues by additional topics what do you mean? Sorry my mind is seriously all over the place at the moment.

Omg don't, the character that I was stuck on was Maddison she is a pain in the backside to think of topics for.

I probably failed to put togetrher a clear question right there (the heat in our office is killing my brain, you know).
Basically tried to ask if they can pick more than four topics to study ....

No that's fine it was clear it was me just being dopey. I wanted to keep 4 so that it is manageable and keep it small but I think if your character wants to study one more topic that would be perfectly fine. I think we can do like an after school club sort of thing that's if it's ok?

Or we could do something like set a notice board offering special courses that take place after the regular lessons? Each student interested would "register" to the extra course and they might even get guest lecturers or something. (just throwing ideas around feel free to ignore if that sounds stupid, like said I'm sick so my ability to think is bit off right now)
