Information
The Royal Music Academy is a School for those who have an interest in Music, want to study more of the subject or want a career involving music. Royal Music Academy isn’t just for students to play a music instrument the school is for whoever wants to learn more about the Music Culture, such as the History, the Media and the Future of the subject. There is also Dance at the school as Music has been a great inspiration in the dance and theatre. Also the school is not just solo artists; you can be a duet or even a band, we accept different genres of music from pop to metal.

Uniform
All students must be in Uniform at all times during lessons. Weekends (Saturday and Sunday) will be an exception of non uniform as the students will not be attending lessons. Girl’s uniform will be a polo shirt on top and tartan skirts for the bottoms. Girls will not be allowed to wear trousers (Leggings or Tights are acceptable). For Shoes there is no specific shoe to be worn. Flip flops/sandals are not allowed. For Men same goes for shoes. Single colour trousers and a Polo top.

I thought doing the Uniform Purple but then I decided that I think we shall have that for debate. I have taken the time to do 7 different colours of the uniform that we could choose among. If you don’t like the shade of colour feel it is too Bright or too dark then we can change the shade.

Photos
When we use photos for our characters I feel we should have them in a Polaroid frame with the school’s logo on the image. The template is below this sentence lol (please do not resize the template). For the picture I would like the character to be wearing the uniform that will be made for your use.

Just an idea for a new RP so tell me what you guys think :D

I like the basic idea so off to the questions:

1. is the campus live-in dorms or do they live at their own houses wherever and come to school from there?
2. any hope for... colorwise more neutral outfits? Also I'm curious about the skirt length, I think that a very shy character wouldn't wear very short skirt
3. Sims should be adult?
4. Since school uniforms usually come with other boring restrictions like "your hair must be tied down and not long on males" and "no dying hair/wild haircuts" maybe those should be included in rules too :P
5. they only study music/music related things or others too?

Hmmm.. I can't think more question right now but I'll add if something comes to my mind ^_^

Hm, now don't get me wrong, I think it's quite cool that you put so much work into this already but I don't think starting another school-based roleplay makes much sense at this point. In my head, that would be "Terces the 2nd". Sure, the study subject is another but beside that, what would change? Well, no more magic, yeah, but that's about it.
In a short, I wouldn't participate in it as it stands now because it's too uninspiring.

That does however not mean a general 'no' to something new from my side. Still, I would like to hint on the matter that, firstly, we also still have Maple (which got stuck for the lack of plot it was supposed to have, I guess, at the moment but anyway) and secondly IF we wonna get something whole new started, we should try to be more creative and find a whole new setting simply for the matter that it would open new opportunities.

A few ideas have already been gathered in this topic. Additionally, foxy and me have discussed that matter in MSN again and came up with settings like pirate ship, castaway and farm. *shrugs and suggests to move back to the discussion linked above*

To answer the first question I was thinking that would making them stay in dorms would be easier for us I guess but I like the whole idea of them going home after school, having Saturdays and Sundays either working, hanging with friends or just having a lazy day. But wouldn’t that make us play with parents too? That would be fun.

Yes we can go more for the neutral colours but I will not do Brown or any shades of that colour as I hate it. I was thinking of the skirt length too and yes long skirts are fine, pencil skirts and gathered skirts all fine as it shows character. I wouldn’t want every girl there wearing heels and short skirts as it will not show originality.

I think it doesn’t matter about age well 16 -25 I think would be the suited age as it is for students studying Music. So I guess it doesn’t really matter.

I am guessing you like that to be a rule if so then why not, but wouldn’t that limit our stereotypes such as a Gothic, Scene or Emo? But I guess it will be interesting to see what we can do with it haha.

Well Music is the main of course and anything to do with Music which will include Fashion, Dance and Acting I think we can those subjects as well so we can have a different selection of students.

And Royal blues indeed it is similar to Terces but this time there will be rules and a limit on what you can do. i guess.

If they lived at home and walked to the school each day it would at least be bit different from Terces and open a lot bigger field (well actually 'city') for the game. And those not living at home could live in student houses, like shared apartments or such or whatever they can afford.

I hate brown too actually so no definitely no brown XD But like dark blue/red/green or maybe something as boring as gray or black?

So ages will be teens-adult and if they're having family members then possibly older/younger sims too. Again opens wider possibilities.

And yes that would limit a lot the characters, BUT that could be taken as challenge too, how do you make your character appear as goth/emo/punk/scene etc without breaking the school rules? :3

What exactly do you mean by that? I mean there are many ways to restrict/limit roleplays.

Hm, now that would make a difference indeed. Though it might as well lead into a huge mess if the happenings of a whole city get put into the same topic. – How about we use the school as a 'frame' so to say? As in; one main topic where all school related posting go and *scratches head* then maybe topics for what happens at each student's home or … something (?).

Making different topics for different places should work yes, it will just require bits of tossing links around especially later when places have been visited few times (= they have more replies) so like "After the lessons everyone headed to John's house to do some group work together" ->link to John's house topic/post where the game continues from that point to make it somewhat easy to follow and then again to next topic wherever the game takes turn to. :3

I have some more ideas I would like you discuss with you guys.

instead of having a canteen in the school there will be resturants, cafes and etc in the school's campus, Different scenes and atmospheres. Also the cafe will be a place for people to go and do work and etc.

Oh also i am going to think of more lessons for the school. I was thinking of making the writers choose what lessons their characters will want to do. As some characters might not like the fashion/styling part of it but there will be one class where all of the students in the the same year will be together
BUT this is an idea. I am not sure if it will work and not seperate the characters too much

I am thinking of doing only 2 years of the scool years. Also having 5 home classes of 30 people in each year, so 10 and 300 students.

You are thinking on too HUGE scale, at most there's 4 players and realistically we can handle maybe 4-7 characters with some importance. NPC characters are different story but on the other hand they don't really need faces, for example think of Linda in Terces - she is there and everyone knows her but she's just librarian who hates her life. What I mean is that if you for example make 9 cafés/restaurants and expect there to be players working in each one it would most likely end up with someone alone running the thing since there's not much point in 2-4 people working in same place since other places would end up deserted on player department and on the other hand if you're not interacting with your workmates then is there much point working in a café or such at all? Well sure customer service but what if your character washes the dishes? Because that's what I imagine students working in Café would most likely do. Or clean the tables and such.

In theory the study subjects don't really matter, not like we are going to write the lessons out anyway unless you seriously planned to like go to Wikipedia and copypasting article about Beethoven or something as their lesson topic and posting it but again, seems pretty pointless.

To reply to the 9 Cafe and restaurants I wasn't thinking of that, I was thinking of a main Cafe and a restaurant in the campus where students meet and socialise or do work in quiet away from the school. For example like having a local Starbucks near your Uni or college were everyone goes to for Coffee or somewhere quite to sit (well away from the school). Also this will be a great place for a date especially if the restaurant is quite posh but also affordable for some students who will not be able to afford it. To the character limit I agree, also I was just trying to make it more realistic by saying that there will be 300 students in the school (As in Terces were there is over 500 people but we don't play with them). Getting a job for students doesnt mean they have to work in the cafe or we have to play with the the staff in the cafe they are just like extras like the Liberian Linda. If you want a job in The cafe then fine, you play as your character.

For the lessons once again I wanted it to be more interesting by having more options to lesson but if you aren't as bothered then we shall just stick to Music and everything involved in one lesson. This is so that our characters will be together most of the time and the only time they are free is on weekends, special days, lunch times and breaks.

After some thoughts I am actually thinking that the students will be all living in apartment like dorms in the campus. So we only focus on the school and around the campus because I feel like making them go home and etc will be too much for us to play with. So trying to make it as small as possible.

*Rubs forehead* I didn't mean to scrap the whole open world idea... Umm well to list what I think as good/bad:

Good ideasBad ideas
+ Open world (means more places to go which is good)- Too open world (=too many places to go and impossible to manage it all)
+ Allowing living home/apartment and/or dorm = more possibilites- Locking people to dorms only, because then it will be more like Terces again
+ Ability to work at part time jobs- school uniforms (personal preference but I don't like uniforms XD)
+ Possibility for sharing apartment with friend(s)/girl/boyfriend- general similarity to Terces
+ 2 years of studies is good idea, it, at least in theory, forces characters to be closer to each others agewise- Idea to focus merely on school and school time, again I don't think the lessons are that important that they should be actually played out. Different thing is chattering with the friends during lessons but I guess that would get them kicked out of the class so...

I agree with you on most of the bad ideas and good ideas but the only one I disagree is with uniform (I love Uniform). The school is meant to be a Private school and I wanted to go for the preppy look. Also I wanted for people to wear the uniforms suited for the character. I would want this feature to stay in the role play if that is possible?

I didn't mean that we have to scrap the idea about uniforms, just personal preference, they aren't my thing. That could however have something to do with the fact that we don't wear school uniforms here.

So I decided to build the school to show everyone what it will look like. In the first picture the Cafe is on the right and the Library is on the left, so they are in the building. I will upload more pictures of some of the classrooms and the apartments. Also I decided to take some pictures of the cafe, which are uploaded below.

I also made 3 teachers that will be in the school and also can be played with if needed. Mainly what they have to say about the students in the staff room, but this is something I think we can discuss if they should be playable or not.

Ms Walker

Sir Smith

Here are the uniforms that I made for the school. I went for a teal colour not to bright or to dull. I like the colour and the result of the uniform besides for the bottoms for the male. They look to baggy but we aren’t doing a full shot so I guess it doesn’t matter.

The whole plan is taking a lot clearer shape already  As far as I'm concerned it's pretty much ready to get it's own area and be posted as new game, there is just the final question: Will there be players? I don't have problems sparing my attention to all the topics so you can count me in. :)
