Mallory shrugged, "Could be ... it's hard to say when you know nothing but face and voice of a person though." Shin smiled, "True. Well if I do get 'nother chance to talk with 'im I'll just hafta assure 'im that's I'm truly not mad 'bout it." They had gotten outside as they talked so she pointed at a hill by the school, "That's where we're headin' now. The school cemetery is there."

Asha was still making up her mind about where to head when her cellphone announced new message. She dug it out reading the message Sabre had sent her sighing relieved. Good, then she was alright. That's great! I'll see you there. she send back heading to Sabre's direction.

Image

“I don’t know,” Max mumbled. “I think so? I’m not … I don’t know if I should attend after what happened yesterday,” she confided hesitantly. Elyssa hummed bit, "I can hold your hand during that." She scratched her neck, "Erm... I mean, every time I was nervous or scared of something my brother would hold my hand and that usually made me feel less nervous. I'm actually not sure if that would work on anybody else to be honest though."

Image

Andy turned to him, smiling brightly. “I know, right? I mean, I’m not sure what I expected when I got here but it sure as hell is a lot bigger. And it’s got this sort of Hogwarts vibe going. I mean, sure it’s a magic school, but I half expect Snape jumping out behind me and tell me off for being stupid half the time. It’s nice though … I think. Didn’t really see much of it yet. I suppose we do have time for some exploration today, don’t we? Maybe we can find some secret nooks and crannies later … that is, if you and those two are up for it. I’m not going to force anyone.” Noir smiled bit, how the hell did he even manage making such a long reply out of single sentence like that anyway? "That... could be fun yeah." He agreed quietly.

They had gotten outside as they talked, Shin pointed at a hill nearby, "That's where we're headin' now. The school cemetery is there." Mallory's eyes twinkled when she grinned at Shin, "I think I like you; graveyards hold awesome motifs for black and white pictures and I love taking those."

Ava smiled,"second year student? So how are you liking the school so far? I am a first year student as you can see getting lost all over the place," she laughed before continuing. "Yes I love my art and I will be taking art lessons as well as Literature and I.T" she answered. "And may I ask about yourself? What are you studying?"

Flora smiled. “Don’t worry; you’ll get used to this place soon enough” She listened to her answer before nodding “I’m studying eco-science to try and help my town. It has a difficult time growing crops and my family deals with plant energy, so...something like that” She wasn’t sure if that made sense, but she hoped it did. “That and using plants for medicines in a more natural way - like potions and whatnot”

Right after she heard the other girl stop speaking, she decided to make her presence known. "Found you Ava!" she chirped. "Sorry for getting separated earlier, but I see you've found a new friend"

I mean, every time I was nervous or scared of something my brother would hold my hand and that usually made me feel less nervous. I'm actually not sure if that would work on anybody else to be honest though." Max willed herself not to freeze up at Elyssa’s suggestion. She hated that she got like this about something so simple as touching but she couldn’t help it. Taking a breath she shook her head.
“I … no. I don’t … Please, don’t take this the wrong way but I’d rather you didn’t. I just … I don’t like being touched,” she explained haltingly, looking at her feet.

Image

Noir smiled a bit, making Andy’s grin widen. "That... could be fun yeah." He agreed quietly. Well, that was something at least. A start if you will. Now he only needed to convince the others.
“Awesome, I bet there’s a ton of stuff around here they don’t show you on any school tours. Plus, it’s an old enough house, right? Don’t those usually have cool secret passages behind paintings and stuff? Maybe we can spy on some secret society meeting? Or, well, we could also join that secret society … or make the bathroom club our own secret society instead. Something like that, anyway.” He winked.

Mallory's eyes twinkled when she grinned at her, "I think I like you; graveyards hold awesome motifs for black and white pictures and I love taking those." Shin laughed bit, "To be honest, I mostly like that place 'cause not many people go there so it was perfect for taking a nap if ya wanted to skip lessons. No one ever looks from there since who the hell goes nappin' in cemetery? I also generally like graveyards tho." The 'path' up the hill was even more overgrown and crumblier than it had been ten years ago so walk up there was a fight through the weeds and desperate search for something that would carry their weight without crumbling down. Once they did make it up she sighed bit looking at the overgrown sad looking graveyard, "'m surprised Puffin hasn't sent 'nyone here to clean the place up, she's the kind of person I think would respect the deceased 'n want 'em to be able to rest in peace."

“I … no. I don’t … Please, don’t take this the wrong way but I’d rather you didn’t. I just … I don’t like being touched,” Max explained haltingly, looking at her feet. Elyssa smiled at her, "Oh that's fine, I understand that not everyone is as physical as I am." She tilted her head, "Not really my business but did something happen to make you feel uncomfortable getting touched?"

Or, well, we could also join that secret society … or make the bathroom club our own secret society instead. Something like that, anyway.” He winked. Noir grimaced, not the bathroom club at least! Thoughtful he replied, "There really could be secret passages, in the school map the walls are at many places very thick and you could definitely fit a human or two walking in there."

No one ever looks from there since who the hell goes nappin' in cemetery? I also generally like graveyards tho." It took Mallory some thinking until she came to the result that there were no arguments against sleeping on a graveyard; the deceased were said to 'sleep' in some religions as well and a sleeping person didn't disturb their rest, right?! - The 'path' they took to climb the hill was overgrown and crumbly so their walk upwards was a constant fight through weeds that was slowed down by desperate searches for spots that would carry their weight without crumbling down. Once they made it up Shin sighed bit looking at the sad looking graveyard, "'m surprised Puffin hasn't sent 'nyone here to clean the place up, she's the kind of person I think would respect the deceased 'n want 'em to be able to rest in peace." Mallory tilted her head, "'Puffin'?"

Elyssa smiled at her, "Oh that's fine, I understand that not everyone is as physical as I am." She tilted her head, "Not really my business but did something happen to make you feel uncomfortable getting touched?" Max bit her lip, balling her right hand into a fist reflexively. Something happen to her? No, just being wrong. But she wouldn’t tell Elyssa that – she couldn’t. Not yet, anyway … maybe never. She shook her head again.
“Nothing happened,” she answered quietly, “I’d rather not talk about it.”

Image

Noir grimaced before replying. Maybe he’d overdone it? "There really could be secret passages, in the school map the walls are at many places very thick and you could definitely fit a human or two walking in there." Or not. Andy felt his grin widen with his excitement.
“Are you kidding? I was joking, really, but if that’s true that would be so awesome! Even more so if we could actually find them! That’s, I mean, obviously nothing bad … maybe a prank or two here or there but mainly shortcuts and secret rooms nobody knows about. History and Mystery, something along those lines. Just … so cool, I swear!”

Mallory tilted her head, "'Puffin'?" She looked at her for a second wondering what the question was before slapping her forehead, "Sorry, Puffin's old nickname I gave to Ada, she's the headmaster here. I dun actually remember 'nymore why I started callin' 'er that but it sorta stuck and she doesn't seem to mind it so..." She shrugged, "Well summed up it's just silly nickname for a dear friend."

Image

Max looked really uncomfortable about that question and shook her head again. “Nothing happened,” she answered quietly, “I’d rather not talk about it.” Elyssa nodded slowly, well as she had said herself that it was 'not really her business' so that answer was kind of expected. "Well I won't force you to go somewhere where you'll be uncomfortable nor force you to talk about it, no worries."

Image

Andy's his grin widened and for a fleeting moment he thought that he looked bit like Cheshire cat. Just … so cool, I swear!” He smiled digging the folded map from his pocket to show him the parts he meant. "Well see yourself, this part and maybe that... you could definitely fit human there. And there are these room sized parts that aren't marked as rooms at all." Of course those could simply have been older rooms that had been sealed off because they were unused but you could never know for sure!

Shin looked at her as if she had said something confusing for a second before she slapped her forehead, "Sorry, Puffin's old nickname I gave to Ada, she's the headmaster here. Mallory nodded a little, "I see ..." She knelt down to sweep some withered roots and leaves away from ... something ... "So ..." she glanced up towards Shin, "The headmaster's quite young, isn't she?" Her fingers brushed over the object that she had releaved while her eyes rested on Shin's face.

"So ..." she glanced up towards Shin, "The headmaster's quite young, isn't she?" Shin nodded leaning on a one tombstone, "Younger than me 'ctually. But it's inherited position 'n the previous headmaster was pretty old when he got 'round gettin' kids so that's why this generation is so youn'. Usually the headmaster position is given to the next generation when they're 'bout 40-50 years old or so. Or well basically when the headmaster is ready to retire himself."

Mallory nodded slowly; the object she had found seemed to be boiling hot all for sudden and she felt dizzy, "Any idea w-hat this ..." 'is?' - she sunk down unconscious ...

"You … have great powers, don't you, sir?"
"That's right."

Mallory nodded slowly, "Any idea w-hat this ..." She didn't finish the sentence when she suddenly collapsed on the ground. Shin immediately got up grimacing, okay maybe bringing her here had been a bad idea after all? This surely wouldn't be because of the spirits roaming here deciding that they didn't like her after all? She knelt down by her to check on her pulse and that she was breathing, which she was - good. She then noticed the item under her hand, she had no idea what exactly it was but it was probably better to take it along just in case it had something to do with her losing consciousness. She put the weird item in her pocket and lifted Mallory on her arms, 3, 2, 1 and - teleport.

She materialized them in the entrance hall hoping there wouldn't be too many people to land on. She staggered bit nearly falling over when she landed. "Are you okay?" A male teacher asked and she nodded, "Yeah, mah friend fainted 'n I gotta take 'er to infirma-" She didn't get to finish the sentence when head splitting headache hit her and she nearly dropped Mallory right there. The same teacher picked Mallory from her then frowned at her, "Just in case you hadn't realized it yet, you're not really capable of teleporting around like that so better quit it before you damage yourself further." She opened her eyes cursing the brightness of the room in her mind, "Dun tell me what to do just take 'er to infirmary." He nodded, "What exactly happened to her?" Shin groaned still in pain digging the item from her pocket holding it out for him, "Not sure, she was diggin' 'round 'n then fainted but this was under her hand." He startled bit stepping backwards to get away from the item, "Keep that away from us!" He commanded and she stared at him stupefied, what was he freaking out now? "Uh.... sorry?" She really wasn't sure what she was apologizing about. The teacher cleared his throat, "That thing.... it's pretty dangerous so keep it to yourself for a moment now and don't bring it close to anyone alright? I'll take your friend to infirmary, at least that makes it clear what happened and luckily it can be treated too." Wait, why did he leave her with the dangerous item!? On the other hand it didn't seem to do anything to her, it was just a smooth stone as far as she could see. Her head still hurt so she wandered to sit on the benches by the wall so she could bury her face to her hands for a while and just hope the headache would pass soon.

Image

He handed the girl to the nurses explaining that she had gotten in contact with cursed item that had sapped her energy away. She'd be fine in few hours but that still left a problem in his hands. That damn stone. As he walked back towards the hall he dug out his cellphone calling Jillian. "Hey Jill, do you have a moment right now?"

Icon had finished going over his study lessons and was wandering about, getting a feel for the school when he noticed someone appear suddenly, then another teacher approach suddenly, carrying another student away. Just what was going on over there? He decided to go and check on the person who was still there, but they seemed like they were in pain or something. "Are you all right?" he asked them.

Image

Ava looks confused for a second, friend? "Yeah I met a wonderful person, and we were just talking about topics and the school," Ava replied looking at Flora. "It was nice meeting you Flora." Ava them looks over to Sabre, "where is Asha?"

Sabre reached in her pocket removing her cellphone. "She's coming, and she suggested we exchange numbers in case this happens again, ok?" she nodded, then looked over at Flora. "Nice to meet you as well. Are you new or an older student?" she wondered.

"Are you all right?" Another voice asked her and she shook her head, not really since she felt like her head would explode. She slowly opened her eyes looking up seeing it was Icon, "Oh hi. Ya might wanna take sum distance, 'pparently this thin' is dangerous sumhow." She groaned as her head hurt even more after opening her eyes so she closed them again burying her face back to her hands. What had that teacher even meant when he said she wasn't 'capable of teleporting'? She had been doing it all her life and the headaches only came if she teleported multiple people at once or teleported herself multiple times in row... It didn't make sense.
